McLean & Armstrong

Our Team

Prior to attending law school Ann obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture in China, a Master’s in Project Management in Australia and spent 20 years in the construction industry. Her experience extends across all phases of construction projects, from land acquisition, planning and permits, design facilitation, project management, contract review, budget negotiation, to dispute resolution.

Ann started her career in China as an architect, and then as a project manager, for international design and engineering consultants. She then took on the position of Expo Project Officer at the British Consulate-General in Shanghai, overseeing the planning, procurement, design, permits, and fundraising aspects of the iconic UK Pavilion project at Shanghai’s Expo. Ann also spent three years managing the operations, and projects, of a prestige British design firm’s China office.

After moving to Canada in 2012, Ann continued her career as a development manager for real estate developers in the Vancouver area, before joining Graham Construction’s Building Division as a pre-construction project manager, where she worked closely with both the pre-construction and construction teams in moving projects towards construction. She was the point of contact for the clients on a number of commercial projects during pre-construction phase, where she facilitated the execution of contracts, obtained the client’s agreement on cost and schedule forecast, and resolved problems and conflicts that arose during the bidding, negotiation, planning and design processes.

Not one to shy away from a challenge, Ann decided to tackle law school and graduated from Thompson Rivers University in 2021. She is the first recipient of Mclean and Armstrong LLP’s Mike Wolfson Memorial Scholarship, and it is this accomplishment that connected her to M&A.

Outside of work, Ann finds great enjoyment in reading, gardening, spending time with her family, and painting with her daughter.
