Our Team

Hilary’s practice focuses on construction and infrastructure. She advises owners, contractors, and consultants on all aspects of construction and infrastructure projects, from contract drafting through to dispute resolution. Hilary has extensive experience advising on major infrastructure projects, such as transportation and wastewater P3 developments, as well as complex multi-party disputes involving commercial and residential developments. She regularly advises clients on contractual interpretation, risk management, claims strategy, and dispute resolution and represents clients on claims involving delays, disruption, defects, breaches of contract, and negligence.

In addition, Hilary regularly supports clients on matters arising under the British Columbia Builders Lien Act, including lien filing and enforcement, lien cancellation applications, and negotiated lien discharges.

Hilary approaches complex legal issues with strategic, practical thinking and a focus on her clients’ commercial objectives. She is called to the bar in both British Columbia and Ontario and is experienced in mediations, settlement negotiations, examinations for discovery, and court appearances before the British Columbia Supreme Court and Small Claims Court.

Outside of work, Hilary enjoys running, gardening, cycling, skiing, and traveling. Hilary also volunteers with Access Pro Bono, providing summary legal advice and representing clients on Residential Tenancy Act matters.
