McLean & Armstrong

Our Team

Mark’s practice focuses on construction litigation and dispute resolution. Mark received his J.D. from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia in 2020, and was called to the BC bar in 2021. Mark articled at a large international law firm in Vancouver.

Prior to law school, Mark received a BASc in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Toronto in 2009. Mark worked as a research engineer in the field of spinal cord injury research before moving back to Vancouver, his home town. Throughout university and afterward, Mark also worked extensively in construction. After returning to Vancouver, this experience in construction influenced Mark’s decision to return to UBC in 2014 to obtain a BASc in Civil Engineering, in 2014.

Mark has worked on many of Vancouver’s major infrastructure projects including the Millennium Line Skytrain, the Canada Line Skytrain, and the Seymour Capilano Filtration Plant Clearwell. Mark also worked for a residential high-rise construction general contractor on the project management team, focusing on concrete multi-family buildings.

Mark sits on the board of directors of the British Columbia Construction Roundtable, a non-profit that provides a forum for information sharing and discussion on important topics relevant to the construction industry in BC.

Outside of work, Mark is an avid amateur curler. He has volunteered extensively with the Vancouver Curling Club, previously sitting on its board of directors, running a league, and coaching children and youth in the club’s junior program.
