Martin is developing a broad construction and infrastructure practice with a focus on large-scale projects and mining. He advises clients through all phases of a project from contract drafting and risk management to dispute resolution. Martin has represented clients in significant matters, including a C$1-billion international arbitration regarding pipeline construction, a C$1.4-billion complex Fisheries Act investigation involving mine-impacted water; and a C$30-million construction dispute involving a mining reclamation project. He also regularly advises clients on urgent construction issues such as lien claims, project disruptions, and bond claims.
Martin is fluent in Spanish and assists mining clients with cross-border transactions and regulatory filings in Mexico and South America.
Outside of his legal practice, Martin is duel-employed as a Sergeant with the Seaforth Highlanders Infantry Reserve in Vancouver, where he has served for 13 years. During this time, Martin specialized in tactical breaching, advanced entry techniques and field construction, and has served oversees and across Canada on various diplomatic and training missions.
Martin was called to the bar in 2024 and joined McLean & Armstrong from a leading national firm.
